Vision of the Co-Founders

  • To develop a model that increases emotional intelligence for teens and role models
  • To create an educational institute to expand expertise on a large scale

Current State

  • Recognized reputation for excellence in the Rocky Mountain region and gaining recognition on a national and international stage
  • Priorities of the prior strategic plan have been realized with a strategic earned income plan, multi-level staff structure, and more formalized board of directors
  • Stable and sustainable organization with a diverse income base and a program model which includes a fee for service component


  • Update the curriculum to reflect best practices in drop-out prevention, school engagement, academic excellence, post-secondary readiness, and healthy choices
  • Diversify fundraising by enhancing corporate and individual donor revenue streams
  • Widen YESS footprint by increasing visibility and promoting quality impact

2015-17 Strategic Plan

The Board of Directors met in January 2015 to create YESS Institute’s three year strategic plan. The primary objectives of the plan are:

  • Updating/aligning the curriculum
  • Formalizing and further diversifying the fundraising plan
  • Putting policies and procedures into place
